Dumbbells are a fantastic tool you can use to get stronger. Many times, people get hung up on the fact that they don’t have a lot of equipment, but you actually don’t need much if you do the right movements. So, I have listed my 7 favorite workouts using just a dumbbell!
1. Bench Press
You don’t need a bench to actually do a bench press, you can just lay down on the ground or mat. Raise the dumbbells from chest to over head.
2. Up Right Rows
Up right rows are a fantastic way to really target your shoulders and biceps. Make sure your back is straight with a slight bend in the knees and lift the dumbbells to chin.
3. Man Makers
I love Man Makers or Women makers 🙂 They are a really fun movement that gets you in the push up position so you can work your core and your arms at the same time. Remember to keep your back straight and you can modify by going to your knees for the push up.
4. Overhead Press
This movement should not be overlooked. It pretty much works all major upper body muscles, from your chest to biceps and back.
5. Goblet Squat
This movement is great for legs and arms. Do a squat while keeping the weight near your chin and repeat.
An oldie and a goodie. Curls really work your biceps while also targeting the forearm muscle that is essential for improving grip strength.
7. Around the World
While holding the dumbbell over your head, simply rotate it around in a circle. Try and keep it as close to your head as possible and then change directions.
