I often hear others say they just don’t have the time to exercise. It’s hard, I totally get it. I work, I have a family and a house to take care of, it’s not easy at all.
I do know that if you don’t make it a priority, you absolutely won’t do it, I’m not being negative, I’m just stating a fact. I’ve been there and please learn from my mistakes.
For a long time after my son was born, instead of making time for myself, I made excuses. I told myself that if I wasn’t at work, I should be with him 100%. I had other tasks to do like laundry, food shopping, dishes, vacuuming, you name it.
But the truth is, I will be better off if I make sweating for 15-20 minutes an important part of my day. If I’m better off, than every thing else will be too. My son will have a more patient and healthy mom, and you know what, all those “to-do list things”, will still be there after that 20 minute workout! How great, right!?
The truth is, is that it’s not easy. But, I’m here to encourage you to make it a precedence!
The first step in making it a priority is totally deciding it needs to be! Once you have done that, working it in to your day is the next step.
If you have to be some where by 9am, try waking up just 30 minutes earlier. You could get in a 15 minute workout before heading out the door.
What about shift workers, most shifts start around 7am or earlier. If you have a job that requires this, I suggest you wake up and just do something. Pure experience here, it’s tough to wake up much earlier than your 5am alarm. But, if you have to wake that early, do 30 squats, or 15 push ups, that’s it. It’s just a routine you can choose to get in to.
If you work late and have to be in early, may be you can eat lunch at your desk and walk around the office or do a quick lunch workout .
Making the time isn’t always easy, but it can be kind of fun to play around with time.
Get creative, because you really are worth it!
