This week my family and I took an adventure of a lifetime. We were able to go to Banff National Park. It was more beautiful than I could have imagined and pictures don’t even come close to capturing the enormous majesty.
All this to say, I wanted to continue my workout regime, but also I didn’t want to take too much time away from family to do so. From my weeks experience, I wanted to share a little bit of what I was able to do.
- Two of the mornings, I got up earlier and was able to get in a great body weight workout. I was able to sweat and than not think about it any more. It was nice to get up and get it done!
- The other 2 days, we found some amazing hikes that had great elevation gains, so I was able to get in some good cardio and I really did feel the hike after burn. Also, if you have a little one and carry them. at all on the hike, you get extra points!
- I also set up a mini “challenge” for myself throughout the day. I told myself I needed to complete 150 push-ups and 100 squats, but I could do them whenever and wherever I needed to, just as long as they got done. That was a good day!
- My husband also checked out a local Crossfit and was able to do a morning WOD before the day began.
Mostly I wanted to be present and spend time in this glorious place with my people. So I tried my best to workout around the edges.
Do you have any suggestions and tips for working out on vacation?
